Perfect Summer Event!Sponsored annually for over 50 years by the Chamber of Commerce, and held every year on the third Saturday in July, the origins of the Sidewalk Sale date back to the 1920’s, when merchants put their wares on the sidewalks for sale. In recent years the Event has expanded to include a “Pre-Sale” day on Friday for New Canaan’s local merchants to put all of their merchandise out on the Sidewalk.
The fair offers local residents and regional visitors an action-packed, bargain-filled, entertaining, and delicious way to spend a summer day in one of the most charming towns in Connecticut. The event always offers many family friendly activities, with merchants showcasing an amazing array of products and services. Sure, there’s a little inventory spring cleaning going on, where many of the best deals spawn from, but some merchant’s have specifically ordered their customers’ favorite items to be sold at discounted prices exclusively during the Sidewalk Sale.
