A helicopter will release 2,000 golf balls over a target at Waveny Park.  Each ball will be numbered individually and the participants whose golf ball(s) land closest to the target will win one of the grand prizes below!  100% of proceeds will be donated to need-based college scholarships for NCHS graduates.  ​​Spectators are welcome!

Throughout the years, Walter Stewart’s Market has generously partnered with the NCSF and recognizes the long-standing community effort to provide need-based financial aid for NCHS graduates pursuing higher education at the undergraduate level.

Spectators will be allowed to view the NC Color Drop from a safe distance in Waveny.  Golf balls are available for purchase at www.nchs-sf.org/colordrop.

Our butchers are here to assist you –from picking the perfect size and type of bird to providing you with down-to-the-minute cooking instructions. As a rule of thumb we recommend 1.5 lbs per person and 2 lbs per person for ample leftovers. We have a fresh turkey selection for special order.



 

 

Gozzi All Natural
(Size range: 8 – 28 lbs, 4 lbs increments)
Famous Gozzi ‘whites’ from Gozzi’s Turkey Farms in Guilford, CT are either raised on their Guilford farm or in Iowa using their own special breed grown according to their specifications. These turkeys are raised in enormous barns where they can roam while remaining safe from coyotes and wolves. Raised on corn and grain, the turkeys receive no hormones or antibiotics.
Bell & Evans All Natural
(Size range: 10 – 28 lbs)
These all natural turkeys are bred Pennsylvania Dutch Country to grow slower, resulting in a tender, moist, richer flavor. Bell & Evans turkeys are selectively bred to produce an extremely broad breast with up to 54 percent more white meat than other brands. Confirmed to be “Lite” by the USDA, Bell & Evans turkeys have 55 percent less fat and 25 percent fewer calories than other turkeys.

Taste of Town Stroll Thursday August 22nd!

Welcome to the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce ‘Taste of New Canaan Stroll’ organized by Rock Paper Scissors Custom Events. This Event is generously sponsored by Walter Stewart’s Market. The Event will be held on Thursday August 22nd. The Event Kicks Off at Stewart’s Wine & Spirits 215 Elm Street

Participants can choose from three different self-guided tours – it’s a fantastic night out with family and friends. Downtown New Canaan has a real buzz and all proceeds go to the local Food Pantry.

Waveny Family Fourth – Saturday July 6th

The Annual Family Fourth of July Celebration will be held on Saturday July 6th at Waveny Park.  The late day activities will include: family picnicking, live music, children’s games area, food court, and a spectacular fireworks display.  A complete program of the day’s activities will be published in the New Canaan Advertiser.  Event passes are necessary to enter the park both by car or walking and may be purchased at Walter Stewart’s Market, the Recreation Department Office, Town Hall, and by New Canaan residents online at www.newcanaan.info  The Family Fourth of July Celebration is made possible entirely through contributions from New Canaan residents, the business community, and local civic organizations.

Get ready for the 2023 Taste of New Canaan organized by Rock Paper Scissors Custom Events. The net proceeds from the donations will go to the New Canaan Food Pantry. This Event is graciously sponsored by William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty New Canaan Office. By donating to the Food Pantry you will receive a “Map” to the Taste Tour of your choice.

The NCHS Scholarship Foundation (NCSF) welcomes Walter Stewart’s as a title sponsor for the third annual NC Color Drop to be held on March 25th, 2023, at 10:00am.  That Saturday morning, a sleek Bell407 helicopter, courtesy of HeliNY, will once again fly over the skies of New Canaan and hover over Waveny Park, safely releasing 2000 colored golf balls over a designated target.  Each golf ball will have an assigned number.  The lucky winners, whose ball lands closest to the target, will win one of the following special prizes:  a Momentum Transend Electric Bike, a Pet Portrait by artist Emma Sims, a season pass to the Steve Benko Pool at Waveny Park, or an 84 Sports gift basket.  The winning balls will be announced immediately. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the NCSF for need-based scholarships given to NCHS graduates.
