Waveny Family Fourth – Friday July 4th

The Annual Family Fourth of July Celebration will be held on Satuday July 4th at Waveny Park.  The late day activities will include: family picnicking, live music, children’s games area, food court, and a spectacular fireworks display.  Gates open at 5 p.m. 

Bouncy Houses, Food Trucks and LIVE MUSIC

Grab your picnic blanket and beach chair and join your New Canaan neighbors as we gather to celebrate our Nation’s birthday with festive music, food trucks and fireworks!
Cars: Enter through the South Avenue entrance; Lapham Road is exit only. Please display your pass on your car dashboard – one pass per car
Walkers & Cars parking at NCHS: 
Please have your paid pass with you for entry into Waveny Park.

Passes are $40 each and are sold to New Canaan residents.
No dogs are allowed

New Canaan Fireworks passes can only be purchased by New Canaan residents; proof of identity is required.

Prohibited from the park during the New Canaan 4th of July Fireworks event: dogs, personal drones, grills, candles, personal fireworks, and sparklers.

November: Pick up Daily 11/10 – 11/24

  • How it Works:
    • Drop off your knives at the Walter Stewart’s Market (by 10am to ensure you get them back the text day)
    • Fill out the sharpening form. Forms are also available at the store’s service desk.
    • Knives will be ready the following day and you will be notified by email
    • Payment required when dropping off your knives by cash or check payable to “Elizabeth Colwell” or venmo  Cost $6 per knife any size  ($9/scissors)

Thanksgiving Sharpening Schedule:

  • Daily Pick Up Monday Nov. 10th – Monday Nov. 24th:  Drop off your knives at the service desk by 10am, they will be sharpened and ready for pickup the following day.

The NCHS Scholarship Foundation (NCSF) welcomes Walter Stewart’s as a title sponsor for the fifth annual NC Color Drop to be held:

A helicopter will release 2,000 golf balls over a target at Waveny Park.  Each ball will be numbered individually and the participants whose golf ball(s) land closest to the target will win one of the grand prizes below!  100% of proceeds will be donated to need-based college scholarships for NCHS graduates.  ​Spectators are welcome!

Throughout the years, Walter Stewart’s Market has generously partnered with the NCSF and recognizes the long-standing community effort to provide need-based financial aid for NCHS graduates pursuing higher education at the undergraduate level.

Spectators will be allowed to view the NC Color Drop from a safe distance in Waveny.  Golf balls are available for purchase at www.nchs-sf.org/colordrop.

Donate your T-Bill balances to help us support the World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team as they provide food and water aid to families in Asheville, North Carolina, providing much needed relief after Hurricane Helene’s catastrophic impact on the Appalachian community.

 

Walter Stewart’s will match all T-Bill balances donated with an equal monetary donation to World Central Kitchen.

Walter Stewart’s and Stewart’s Wine & Spirits are proud sponsors of the annual Lobsterfest by the Rotary Club of New Canaan.
The Rotary Club of New Canaan was chartered in 1959 as a member of Rotary International, the World’s Largest Service Organization. Lobsterfest is their Foundation’s major Annual Fundraiser, with all proceeds to benefit local and international charities through our Grant Process.
Early fall is a fantastic time to enjoy a classic New England style steamed lobster dinner! Lobster not your thing? Don’t worry,  grilled Salmon or Fried chicken dinners too!
